The world is tightly wired by bacteria since direct bacterial extracellular electron transfer is found.After two decades, more than 13,000 academic papers are published in the microbial electrochemistry and technology area, where AP area contributes ~50%.Promising technologies such as microbial fuel cell, microbial electrolysis cell, microbial desalination cell, microbial electrochemical synthesis, etc. are invented for a sustainable way of energy recovery from wastes. The 5th AP-ISMET will supply a high-level communication platform for researchers, engineers, and industries to have deep communication in this fantastic area.
